Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Haitian Artists Assembly of Massachusetts (HAAM) and its partnership with Boston City Hall, site of its first exhibition in October of 1995, this exhibition highlights the works of Myrlene Mimi Désir, Roberto “Roga” Gabriel and Patrick Tintin joined by eight guest artists members of HAAM. The works on view dance between abstraction and figuration to reflect the richness and diversity of Haitian identity rooted in a complex history.

Based in Massachusetts and founded in January 1995, the Haitian Artists Assembly of Massachusetts is composed of more than 40 artists and their friends, art lovers, and volunteers. They promote Haitian art and culture through artmaking, information sharing, and Haitian-themed cultural events and celebrations. HAAM serves primarily Haitian-American artists based in New England, and collaborates with writers, musicians, and storytellers. HAAM has held more than 100 arts exhibitions and developed many partnerships throughout the years.
