The FY26 budget commits funding to to update constituent engagement  systems, while ensuring City assets are functional, accessible, and well-maintained.

Streamlining Service Processes

The City of Boston provides a wide range of services to residents. The FY26 Budget strives to improve the experience residents have when using public-facing technology and services through:

  • $77.5M in citywide trash collection and disposal services to provide quicker pickup times and fewer missed pickups.

  • $3.2M to improve the Boston 311 system. This will increase security, improve communication with residents, and streamline internal workflows.
