Repair A Roof

If you are repairing a roof, you’ll need to apply for a Short-Form permit.

Who can repair a roof?

Homeowners and contractors can apply for the permit and repair the roof if the work is being done on a 1-2 unit owner-occupied home.

You must hire a contractor to apply for the permit and perform the work if it’s being done on a three-family or bigger dwelling, such as:

  • an apartment building
  • a multi-unit condo, or
  • one floor of a triple-decker house.
