This initiative will prioritize detained immigrants, those at heightened risk of detention, and immigrant youth.

Implementation And Impact
The Boston Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Advancement announced the release of its Immigration Legal Access Grant on August 6th, 2026. This grant will fund programming provided by community-based nonprofits and legal aid organizations that responds to the need for immigration legal assistance and related community support.
- The total grant amount is $1 million, of which $400,000 came directly from the Participatory Budgeting process through community voting.
- Applications are now closed, with over 30 applications submitted!
- Grantees will be announced in October, 2026.
