CIP 26-81 THOREAU PATH RECONSTRUCTION

The City of Boston, acting by the Public Works Department, Room 714, 1 City Hall Square, Boston, MA 02201, hereinafter referred to as the Awarding Authority, hereby invites sealed bids for the project listed above. 

Bids will be solicited from interested vendors through the City of Boston’s Supplier Portal: boston.gov/departments/procurement

All bids for this project are subject to all applicable provisions of law and in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract documents entitled: CIP 26-81 Thoreau Path Reconstruction.

Bids must be submitted before 11:00 A.M., Boston time, Thursday, March 26, 2026, and opened 1:00 P.M., Boston time, Thursday, March 26, 2026. 

The IFB documents will be available on or about Monday, March 9, 2026, after 9:00 A.M., Boston time

The project involves the reconstruction of Thoreau Path in Boston’s West End, featuring the excavation of existing pavement and construction of new full-depth bituminous concrete surfaces. Additional work includes resetting granite and concrete curbing, repairing adjacent brick and paver paths, and performing comprehensive site restoration including stone edging and landscaping.

MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the classes of work as "Highway Construction" for a contract with an estimated value of $1,904,625.00 will be required. A contractor that is not prequalified for the value above but wants to bid a project must submit a waiver request to MassDOT at least 2 weeks prior to the project’s bid opening date.
