Tree Removal Hearing: Brighton
In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on a request to remove four (4) public shade trees on Newton Street and Riverview Road, Brighton.

The request is for the removal of four (4) public shade trees located on Newton Street and Riverview Road, Brighton, as follows:
- (1) Honeylocust tree measuring 19 inches DBH (diameter at breast height) at 17 Newton Street
- (1) Silver Maple tree measuring 23 inches DBH at 25 Newton Street
- (1) Linden tree measuring 25 inches DBH at 31 Newton Street
- (1) Norway Maple tree measuring 23 inches DBH at 43 Riverview Road
The removal requests are in order for the City of Boston Public Works Construction Management Division to reconstruct the sidewalk and provide an accessible path of travel at these locations.
The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) remotely on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026 at 10:00am via Zoom.

Public comments, questions or objections to the removal of these trees must be submitted in writing prior to or during the hearing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118 or by emailing trees@boston.gov with “Newton Street and Riverview Road Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
