290 North Beacon Street Public Meeting
We're redeveloping 290 North Beacon Street to create 40,000 square feet of brand new, publicly-owned music rehearsal space, alongside new, permanently affordable housing.
This is a meeting led by the Boston Housing Authority, the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture (MOAC), and The Community Builders (TCB). This meeting is regarding the future of the property located at 290 North Beacon Street. In 2023, it was announced that the City would be the recipient of the property as a result of development project impact mitigation for the project located at 155 North Beacon Street. In 2024, the City of Boston received approval to accept the 290 North Beacon property in order to benefit the arts and culture community and to help address the need for more affordable housing in the Brighton neighborhood. The City of Boston designated the BHA as the developer with support from The Community Builders (TCB) to redevelop the site. Since selection, the development team has been building out the design and consultant team that will deliver this project. They have also been better understanding the site and neighborhood context of 290 N Beacon.
In this meeting you'll have an opportunity to meet the fully assembled team, learn about what they’ve been working on, and understand the next steps of the development process.
No final decisions will be made in this meeting.
