National Hotel Employee Day

Hotel employees play an important role in welcoming visitors and strengthening communities across Boston. The Council proclaimed August 26, 2026, as National Hotel Employee Day in Boston and recognized the dedication, professionalism, and service of hotel employees across the city.

Hotels in Boston employ 13,222 individuals, contributing to a hospitality industry that supports more than 9.2 million jobs nationwide. The resolution also recognizes the hospitality industry’s commitment to creating welcoming workplaces where individuals can begin their careers, develop new skills, and achieve upward mobility.

The resolution highlights the substantial increase in tourism and visitors to Boston this summer due to the World Cup, America 250, and Sail Boston. Hotel employees throughout Boston have met this increased demand with professionalism and proficiency, showcasing the best of hospitality every day.
