  2. COMMUNICATIONS FROM HIS HONOR, THE MAYOR:

    0678 - Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept expend the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) in the form of a grant awarded by the Boston Foundation to be administered by the Elderly Commission. The grant would fund the creation of a policy strategy and action plan to address financial security for Boston’s older residents.

  3. MATTERS RECENTLY HEARD-FOR POSSIBLE ACTION:

    0649 - Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Hundred Twenty Million Eight Hundred Fifty-Three Thousand Three Hundred Fifty-Nine Dollars and Ten Cents ($120,853,359.10) in the form of a grant, award by the United States Department of the Treasury to be administered by the City of Boston. This grant payment is made from the Coronavirus Relief Fund in the Treasury of the United States established by section 5001 of the CARES ACT. Pursuant to the requirements of the CARES Act, the grant payment would fund the necessary expenditures incurred due to the public health emergency with respect to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) between March and December 2020 that were not otherwise accounted for in the City of Boston’s most recent budget.

    0218 - Order for a hearing to discuss ways to support tenants facing eviction and displacement.

    0587 - Order for a hearing regarding the creation of temporary rental assistance to support residents impacted by COVID-19.

The CPC is recommending $15,750,000.00 in affordable housing projects, $3,440,000.00 in historic preservation projects and $5,119,000.00 in recreational use and open space projects.

    0614 - Message and order authorizing the appropriations of Seven Hundred Eighty-Two Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-Two Dollars ($782,392.00) for the administrative and operating expenses of the City of Boston Preservation Committee (“CPC”) for Fiscal Year 2021, and a further appropriation order in the amount of Twenty-Five Million Five Hundred Seventeen Thousand Six Hundred Eight Dollars ($25,517,608.00) from the Community Preservation Fund’s (“the Fund”) estimated annual revenues for Fiscal Year 2021, to be appropriated and reserved for future appropriation. The Fund was created upon the adoption of the community Preservation Act (the “Act”) in November 2016 and is funded in part by the 1% property tax-based surcharge on residential and business property tax bills that took effect in July 2017 and an annual state distribution from the Massachusetts community preservation trust fund.
