City Council meeting

The City Council is holding a meeting on May 5 at 12 p.m.

All Council Meetings are held at 12 p.m. (noon) in the Christopher A. Iannella Chamber on the fifth floor of Boston City Hall, unless otherwise noted. All meetings are open to the public and are also available on Xfinity Channel 8, RCN 82, Fios 964, and livestream via City Council TV.

    COMMUNICATIONS FROM HER HONOR, THE MAYOR:

    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Five Hundred Twenty-Six Thousand One Hundred Twenty Dollars ($526,120.00) in the form of a grant, for the FFY21 Title III-E Caregiver Services, awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, passed through the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs, to be administered by the Age Strong Commission. The grant will fund sub-grant for caregiver services to seniors, and grandparents raising their grandchildren.

    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Million Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($1,750,000.00) in the form of grant, for the FY21 BFD State Training Program, awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services to be administered by the Boston Fire Department. The grant will fund the Boston Fire Training Division and Academy activities. This State earmark supplements City fund for training, supplies and materials.

    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Four Thousand Ninety-One Dollars ($4,091.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY21 Title III-D for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, passed through the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs, to be administered by the Age Strong Commission. The grant will fund health promotion and disease prevention programs.

Receipts and resulting expenditures from this fund shall not exceed Eight Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($850,000.00).
