    1049 Message and order transferring the care, custody, management and control of certain city-owned parcels located at Sleeper Street and Seaport Boulevard to the Parks and Recreation Department for the design and construction of Martin's Park in the Seaport District.

     

    1050 Message and order authorizing the Boston Public Library Department to accept and expend a capital grant of Five Million Five Hundred Ninety-Seven Thousand Three Hundred Seventy-Four Dollars ($5,597,374.00) from the Massachusetts Public Library Construction Program  (MPLCP) per the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, for the renovation of the Dudley Branch Library.

     

    1051 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of Three Million Two Hundred Fifty Three Thousand Three Hundred Seventeen Dollars ( $3,253,317.00) for the FY18 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Support and Incentive Grant, awarded by the MA Executive Office of Public Safety & Security to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund the cost associated with providing Enhanced 911 services.

     

    1052 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of Eight Hundred Fifty-Seven Thousand Three Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars ($857,375.00) for the FY18 SuccessLink Employment Program (formerly YouthWorks) awarded by MA Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, passed through the Economic Development and Industrial Corporation of Boston, to be administered by the Youth Engagement and Employment. The grant will fund hiring at-risk youth for placement at various community-based organizations around Boston.

     

    1053 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of Six Hundred Eighty-Four Thousand One Hundred Twenty-One Dollars ($684,121.00) for the FY18 State 911 Training Grant awarded by the MA Executive Office of Public Safety to be administered the Police Department. The grant will fund training and certification of Enhanced 911 telecommunications staff.

     

    1054 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of Four Hundred Forty-Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-Three Dollars( $447,863.00) for the Jobs Access and Reverse Commute Program, awarded by the United States Department of Transportation, passed through the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, to be administered by the Boston Transportation. The grant will fund the City of Boston Neighborhood Mobility micoHUBs Project.

     

    1055 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) from Ursuline Academy for community outreach programs to be administered by the Police Department.

  5. MATTERS RECENTLY HEARD-FOR POSSIBLE ACTION:

    1001 Message and order approving appropriations of Six Hundred Thousand Dollars ($600,000.00) for the purpose of paying for the costs of a feasibility study and schematic design work associated with projects at the following schools: East Boston High School– boiler replacement, O'Donnell School K-5 – boiler replacement, Sumner School K-5 – boiler replacement, Timilty Middle School – boiler replacement, Tobin School K-8 – boiler replacement, UP Academy K-8-window replacement and the Russell School K-5- roof replacement. This includes the payment of all costs incidental or related thereto, and for which the City of Boston may be eligible for a grant from the Massachusetts School Building Authority (“MSBA”), said amount to be expended under the direction of the Public Facilities Department on behalf of the Boston Public Schools.
