City Council meeting

The City Council is holding a meeting on June 15 at 12 p.m.

        0433    The Committee on Environmental Justice, Resiliency & Parks, to which 

        was referred on March 30,2022, Docket # 0433, message and order 

        authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount  of Three 

        Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollar ($350,000.00)  in the form of a grant for the 

        Massachusetts Diesel Emissions Reduction Act grant (“the DER Grant”)  

        awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection 

        under a Cooperative  Agreement with the United States Environmental 

        Protection Agency. The purpose of the DER grant is to reduce diesel 

        emissions from the transportation sector. The funds will be used to purchase 

        and deploy fuel efficient school buses as a part of the Boston Public School 

        fleet, submits a report recommending the order ought to pass.

        0539    The Committee on Environmental Justice Resiliency & Parks. to which was 

        referred on April 27,2022, Docket #0539, Message and order authorizing 

        the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Hundred Eighty 

        Thousand Dollars ($180,000.00) in the form of a grant for the Community 

        First Partnership, awarded by Mass Save to be administered by the 

        Environment Department. The grant will fund outreach and engagement 

        with environmental justice communities to drive increased awareness and 

        measurable participation in energy efficiency programs, submits a report 

        recommending the order ought to pass.

        0653    The Committee on Environmental Justice Resiliency & Parks to which was 

        referred on May 25, 2022, Docket #0653, Message and order for your 

        approval an Order authorizing the Parks and Recreation Commission, on 

        behalf of the City of Boston, to acquire by an eminent domain taking two 

        parcels on the western shore of Sprague Pond at 0 4 Lakeside Avenue in 

        Hyde Park as a permanently protected parkland to be known as the Sprague 

        Pond Shoreline Reserve and to use Community Preservation Fund monies 

        appropriated to the Parks and Recreation Department to award damages as 

        determined by the Commission, submits a report recommending that the
