City Council Meeting

All weekly City Council meetings are held at 12 p.m. (noon) in the Christopher A. Iannella Chamber on the fifth floor of Boston City Hall, unless otherwise noted.

All meetings are open to the public and are also available on Xfinity Channel 8, RCN 82, Fios 964, and livestream via City Council TV.

  2. COMMUNICATIONS FROM HER HONOR, THE MAYOR:

    1373    Message and order for your approval an Ordinance to support public safety 
        as the City doubles down on our public health led approach to the crises of 
        mental health, substance use, and unsheltered homelessness concentrated in 
        the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard.

        1374    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston through its Mayor’s 
        Office of Housing to apply for, accept and expend, the FFY23 Continuum 
        of Care grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban 
        Development in the amount not to exceed Fifty Million Dollars 
        ($50,000,000.00). The funds will be used to support programs that provide 
        services and housing to persons experiencing homelessness.

        1375    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 
        amount of Twenty Five Million Dollars ($25,000,000.00) in the form of a 
        grant, for the Commonwealth Builder Program, awarded by the 
        Massachusetts Housing Partnership to be administered by the Mayors 
        Office of Housing. The grant will fund the creation of workforce 
        homeownership units and long term availability of those units to eligible 
        moderate income households.

        1376    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 
        amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) in the form of a grant for 
        Securing the Cities continuation grants, awarded by the United States 
        Department of Homeland Security to be administered by the Police 
        Department. The grant will fund continued enhancements for regional 
        capabilities to detect, identify, report, and interdict nuclear and other 
        radioactive materials out of regulatory control and provide regional training 
        and exercise opportunities necessary to enhance capabilities.

        1377    Message and order authorizing the Department of Innovation and 
        Technology (DoIT) to enter into a long term contract for constituent 
        relationship management system for Boston 311 Call Center for a term of 
        up to Ten (10) years.

        1378    Message and order for your approval an Order to declare surplus this 
        City owned parcel currently under the management of the Boston Public 
        Library and transfer the care, custody, management and control of said 
        property to the Public Facilities Commission. The land is located at 151 
        Cambridge Street in the West End District (Ward 03 Parcel 00656000).

        reassignment of Docket #1293 to the Committee on Planning, 
        Development, and Transportation.

        1382    Notice was received from the Mayor of the appointment of Chantal Lima

        approved and received by the Collector Treasurer were received.

    1188    Councilor Mejia offered the following Ordinance Amending City of Boston 
        Code, Ordinances, Chapter XII, Section 12 19, Immigrant Advancement for 
        Public Health and Welfare.

        1196    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the 
        amount of Four Million Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars 
        ($4,550,000.00) in the form of a grant, for the MBI Digital Equity 
        Partnership Program, to be administered by the Broadband and Equity. The 
        grant will fund services and support for residents of the Commonwealth 
        who cannot afford broadband services and/or internet connected devices or 
        lack the digital literacy skills needed to utilize the internet.
