School Site Council Hearing

The School Site Council will hold a hearing on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Jeremiah E. Burke Library at 60 Washington Street, Dorchester, MA 02124.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the Jeremiah E. Burke High School Site Council voted to honor the significant contributions made by former headmaster Dr. Albert Holland.

The council, faculty, and staff have recognized the dedication of Dr. Holland and the work achieved under his leadership. During his time at “The Burke,” Dr. Holland came to understand the meaning of the African Proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child." The school's gymnasium was renamed to the "Dr. Albert Holland Athletic Complex," and after his retirement in 2008, he continued to work with Boston Public Schools as a mentor/coach to many BPS Principals.
