Massachusetts Association of Conservation Districts (MACD) Public Meeting

The Massachusetts Association of Conservation Districts (MACD) is hosting a public meeting on April 16, 2026, at 1 p.m. on Zoom to provide an overview of Conservation Districts, discuss opportunities for Suffolk County, and outline the process for forming a Board of Supervisors.

Conservation Districts are local units of government that receive grant funding to support agriculture and natural resource conservation. They work with farmers, landowners, municipalities, and community organizations to improve soil health, water quality, wildlife habitat, and climate resilience —while also helping communities access funding and technical assistance.

At this time, the Suffolk County Conservation District is inactive, and available funding for local conservation and urban agriculture initiatives is going unused. MACD is seeking community members interested in helping reactivate the District, either by serving on a reactivation team or by participating in future leadership and projects.
