Tree Removal Hearing: Jamaica Plain

In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on a request to remove one (1) public shade tree at 265 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain.

    This removal request located at 265 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain is in order to facilitate the streetscape improvements along the new Building 2 of the Mildred Hailey housing project near Jackson Square. The project plans to widen the sidewalk at this intersection and provide 3 new street trees along 265 Centre St. The project will also provide porous pavers, structural soil for the new trees, and bike racks. The following tree is being requested for removal:

    • One (1) Elm tree measuring 3 inches DBH (diameter at breast height).

    The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) remotely on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10 a.m. via Zoom.

    Public comments, questions or objections to the removal of this tree must be submitted in writing prior to or during the hearing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118 or by emailing trees@boston.gov with “Centre Street Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
