City Council meeting

The City Council is holding a meeting on February 13 at 12 p.m.

All meetings are open to the public. You can also watch meetings on Comcast channel 8, RCN channel 82, Verizon channel 1964, and online at Boston.gov.

  2. COMMUNICATIONS FROM HIS HONOR, THE MAYOR:

    0335 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Four Hundred Forty Thousand Dollars ($440,000.00) in the form of a grant for the Nutrition Services Incentive Program, awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, passed through the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs, to be administered by the Elderly Commission. The grant will fund meals for home bound seniors. This is an estimated award total based on prior allocations.

    0336 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) in the form of a grant for the Immigrant Advancement Initiative, awarded by the Donor Group to be administered by the Office of Immigrant Advancement. The grant will fund programs, initiatives, events and small grants that enable immigrants to play an active role in the economic, civic, social and cultural life of the City of Boston.

    0337 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY18 Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement formula grant, awarded by the National Institute of Justice, passed through the Massachusetts State Police / Crime Laboratory, to be administered by the Police Department. The grant would fund training and continuing education for forensic examiners, criminalists and laboratory personnel.
