City Council meeting

    1373 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of One Hundred Fifty Thousand ($150,000.00) for CANShare FY2020, awarded by the Donor Group to be administered by the Office of Food Access. The grant will fund a match for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) through donations. CANShare donations will enable SNAP beneficiaries to double their buying power at Boston Farmers' Markets and select neighborhood convenience stores, providing greater access to fresh food.

    1374 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for the Human Trafficking Unit Training, awarded by the Imago Dei Fund to be administered by the Police Department. The grant would fund workshops entitled Understanding Commercial Sexual Exploitation and the Role of the Buyer, and the Use of Innovation Technologies to Deter, Arrest and Make Buyers Accountable.

    1375 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant of Nine Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($9,350.00) for the Turn Off the Red-Light Campaign, awarded by the Imago Dei Fund to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund the Kick-Off event for the Turn Off the Red Light Campaign. Its goal is to mobilize leaders, in Boston and across Massachusetts, to work toward eliminating Commercial Sexual Exploitation, and the harm associated with it, through strategies consistent with Europe's Equality/Nordic Model.
