Tree removal hearing: Babcock Street, Allston

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold two public hearings on Thursday, June 6, on requests to remove public shade trees in Allston.

  1. Request to remove four Bradford pear trees

    The hearings will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) in the 3rd floor Conference Room of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department at 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, Roxbury. 

    The first hearing will be held at 10 a.m. on a request to remove four Bradford pear trees measuring between 11 and 14 inches dbh (diameter at breast height) at 285 Babcock Street in Allston due to a streetscape improvement project at Boston University’s Case Center.

    Public testimony will be taken at the hearings, or may be provided prior to the hearings in writing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118, or by emailing parks@boston.gov with “Allston Tree Hearings” in the subject line.

    A final decision regarding the request will be made within two weeks of the hearings.  For further information, please contact the Tree Warden at 617-635-7275.
