There is interest in permanently preserving the site as open space, including continued use for urban agriculture. DND held a community process in fall 2020 and feedback was positive. A Request for Proposals was issued in February 2021. One proposal was received and is under review.

These two parcels, totaling about 6,000 sq. ft., are under consideration to be preserved as open space, including a community garden, providing growing space for local residents in addition to the neighboring existing community garden, as well as possible gathering space and other open space uses. Community meetings were held in December 2020 and January 2021, and an RFP is likely to be released by March 2021.
