Green Infrastructure Volunteer Program

The City of Boston's Department of Green Infrastructure is starting a volunteer program in spring 2024.

Want to help fight climate change with your hands? Come volunteer with us! Please fill out our volunteer interest form if you'd like to come help take care of your local green infrastructure feature.

Volunteer Interest Form

What is the work that needs to be done?

We need folks to help pick up trash, remove weeds, clear leaf debris, prune and re-plant beautiful vegetation.

Your work will help reduce extremely hot temperatures in neighborhoods with little greenery, pull more carbon out of the atmosphere, fortify your community against flooding, and help green the city for our collective mental health.

Take Note
  • Folks under 18 must have written consent from their parent or guardian to volunteer with us
  • You are encouraged to add your volunteer experience to your resume after one volunteer event
  • You will get reflective vests, gloves, buckets, and trash pickers when you volunteer
