Large Building Green Energy Retrofits - Funding Awards

The City of Boston, acting by and through its Public Facilities Commission by the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH), Neighborhood Housing Development Division, is seeking proposals for its Large Building Green Energy Retrofits Funding Awards. The Large Building Green Energy Retrofits Program makes funding available specifically for measures that will significantly reduce the energy consumption and carbon emissions footprint of Boston’s existing affordable housing.

These awards are intended to assist the owners of affordable housing buildings with the execution of such projects, including building improvements and alterations as well as development tasks associated with this work.

Retrofit funds are awarded subject to American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) regulations. Funds will be awarded at MOH’s discretion to eligible organizations and projects.  MOH anticipates funding awards up to $50,000 per eligible unit, depending on project size and scope in response to this RFP. 

The RFP package is available and can be downloaded by registering on our website.  Completed RFP responses must be submitted electronically. Retrofit funds will be available through this RFP on a rolling basis until December 31, 2023, or until funds run out.
