Electrical Fire Alarms Permits

An Electrical Fire Alarms permit is needed for the installation of a new fire alarm system, altering an existing system, replacing a fire alarm panel, and replacing existing phone communicator devices.

Because this project involves multiple permits and fire safety, Inspectional Services recommends you hire a Fire Protection Engineer who will be able to help walk you through this process before applying online.

To speak with one of the Boston Fire Department’s Fire Protection Engineers for guidance, call 617-343-2043. You can also visit the fire forms, permits, applications, and fees website for additional information.
