Project Goals

405 Washington Street is a homeownership development that will transform a vacant and underutilized city-owned parcel in Dorchester. The project consists of thirteen (13) condominium units, with a mix of one (1) studio, two (2) 1-bedroom units, six (6) 2-bedroom units, and four (4) 3-bedroom units. All thirteen (13) units will be deed-restricted. There will be five (5) units affordable to households earning no more than 80% AMI. An additional four (4) units affordable to households earning at or below 100% AMI.

DND has issued a Request for Proposals for this property. The RFP due date was September 30, 2019. This RFP seeked to develop the site for residential OR mixed-use development. Three proposals were received. The developers who submitted are Piatt Associaites, Inc., Urbanica, Inc., and Codman Square NDC. Each presented their proposed development at the community meeting held on November 6, 2019. Their proposal presentations are attached to this record. The comment period expires on November 20, 2019. After the comment period has ended, we will continue to move forward with selecting the most qualified proposal. Please contact the Project Manager with any questions or comments.
