The event will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019, at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. The unique event offers an opportunity to engage, learn, and celebrate Boston’s diversity with leaders from many sectors. The evening also highlights the many contributions and achievements of our immigrant and refugee communities.

*Workshops designed for Human Resources Officers, Diversity Inclusion and Corporation Social Responsibility Officers, and Community Organizations

Welcoming Economies Workshop by Welcoming America:

This training reviews the array of programs and strategies that other communities have pioneered to help include immigrants in the local community and economic development efforts. Participants will learn how to connect immigrant inclusion to regional economic development efforts and consider what models could work best in their community.

Storytelling Workshop and Demo by International Institute of New England: 

This specialized program offers an overview of how migration and culture can be explored through the lens of personal narrative. Participants will hear from local storytellers, consider how migration and culture shape both personal identity and workplace communities, and learn storytelling tips that are applicable to work and personal goals.

Reception with Mayor Martin J. Walsh

The reception will include a presentation on MOIA's strategic plan by Director Yusufi Vali and a special announcement on the Greater Boston Immigrant Defense Fund by Mayor Walsh, along with an opportunity to network with a number of corporations, foundations and community groups committed to advancing our immigrant residents in Boston and beyond.
