Workforce and Career Readiness Partner Resources
We provide employers and community partners with resources, tools, and support to strengthen youth career development and workplace opportunities.
The Career Development Team empowers Boston youth with the tools, confidence, and guidance needed to succeed in school, careers, and beyond. Through personalized support, interactive workshops, and professional development resources, we help young people build resumes, prepare for interviews, explore career pathways, and navigate opportunities for college, scholarships, and employment. Our goal is to ensure every participant feels prepared, supported, and equipped to take the next step toward their future.
The Workforce and Career Readiness program is a central space designed to support organizations with tools, resources, and guidance to strengthen:
- youth career readiness
- workplace learning, and
- professional development opportunities throughout the program year.
Opportunities include:
- guidance for scheduling workshops

YEO’s Career Development Team offers a diverse curriculum with workshop series, including:
Executive Functions
Through workshops and interactive activities, this two-part series develops skills such as problem-solving, planning, decision-making, and task execution, all of which are crucial for personal and professional success.
Career Exploration
This three-part series focuses on the purpose behind career exploration, navigation, and growth. During this series, youth will reflect on their strengths and challenges as they explore their aptitudes and learn how to translate them into actionable goals.
Resume Writing
This crash course covers the essential aspects of youth-specific resume writing, highlighting ways to incorporate and organize personal, school-based, and limited work experiences into a well-structured and impressive resume.
Interviewing
This single-workshop crash course focuses on youth-centered interviewing skills, covering the full interview process, including preparation, day-of tasks, common procedures, and follow-up actions.

One Love Foundation
One Love empowers young people with the tools and resources to recognize healthy and unhealthy relationship signs and bring life-saving prevention education to their communities.
Tailored for Success - LinkedIn 101
Linkedin is not only a social media platform, but also a useful tool to help prepare for an interview. Job seekers can use LinkedIn to research companies, learn about interviewers, and develop talking points.
MassCOSH
- Workplace Sexual Harassment: This training provides an essential understanding of sexual harassment and abusive work environments.
- Workplace Violence: By the end of this training, young people will understand the spectrum of workplace violence, learn de-escalation techniques, and know where to seek resources.
- Working Teens’ Rights: This interactive presentation is fun and game-based, and participants will leave knowing their basic rights as a teen worker, how to identify unsafe working conditions, and what to do if their rights are violated at work. The workshop covers the basic legal protections for young workers detailed in Massachusetts’ child labor laws, compensation and hours for young workers, workplace safety and health hazards, and how to stand up for your rights.
Three live, virtual sessions will be administered throughout the summer. These online sessions are available to all Boston youth, regardless of SuccessLink employment status, and to all partner sites. Workshops will be hosted on Google Meets, with each lasting approximately one hour. Drop-in sessions
All Boston youth have access to personalized, one-on-one career readiness assistance with one of our experienced team members. Team members are available to meet both virtually, and in-person from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Topics include:
- Resume and cover letter writing
- College research and major exploration
- Scholarship searches
- Mock interviews
- Professional pathway planning
These sessions are scheduled by filling out our drop-in session request form.
All SuccessLink Employer Partners are required to provide 15 hours of career development to your SuccessLink employees during their working hours this summer. Your team has the option to develop and facilitate this curriculum yourselves or you may leverage the Office of Youth Employment & Opportunity's (YEO) resources.
To foster the development of Boston’s youth, YEO has designed a series of of developmentally appropriate curricula tailored to the various needs of Boston youth. These workshops are created nationwide, and capitalize on the on communal data and research that support youth employment readiness and skills.
