Beyond Pride Mini-Grant Fund

The Mayor's Office of LGBTQIA2S+ Advancement's Beyond Pride Mini-Grant Fund allows community-based organizations serving the LGBTQIA2S+ community in Boston to apply for up to $15,000 in funds.

The Mayor's Office of LGBTQIA2S+ Advancement (MOLA) will award mini-grants to grassroots LGBTQIA2S+ community serving organizations. Funds will assist to implement projects, programs and initiatives that support the LGBTQIA2S+ community. These projects must address real LGBTQIA2S+ community needs and offer long-term benefits that are in alignment with community priorities and needs related to LGBTQIA2S+ advancement work. Organizations doing work especially within intersectional communities such as older adults, youth, BIPOC, disabilities, and gender expansive are strongly encouraged to apply. 

MOLA wishes to promote the equity, inclusion, and stability of Boston's LGBTQIA2S+ community as well as bolstering social and community supports. MOLA will consider projects and events which help bring us closer to MOLA's vision of Boston being a city for ALL residents and families.

  • Total Amount Available for Grant Program: $150,000
  • Award Amount per Grant per Organization: Up to $15,000. However MOLA may award full funding, partial funding, or no funding.

Grants will be made to to support programs that expand upon the following focus areas:  

  • Housing 

  • Emergency Assistance 

  • Community Building + Community Events (not Pride month focused events)

  • Legal Services and Support

  • Health + Wellness

  • LGBTQIA2S+ Artists + Culture Visibility 

  • Civic Engagement 

  • Upward Economic Mobility 

  • Pride Month Community Events (events occurring in June, Pride Month) 

PLEASE NOTE: Applicants whose potential grant funded programming fall into the following categories will receive additional consideration: 

  • Housing 

  • Community Building + Events (outside of June, the month of Pride)

  • Legal Services and Support 

  • Emergency Assistance 

  • Upward Economic Mobility 

For this year’s grant cycle, we are prioritizing programming and events aligned with the needs and priorities identified in MOLA’s recent community survey, completed in late summer 2024. This decision reflects our commitment to addressing the key areas highlighted by our constituents and ensuring grant funding is directed toward initiatives that resonate most with the community we serve.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Registered Non Profit organizations serving Boston’s LGBTQIA2S+ community

    • Community-based organizations that do not have non-profit status must partner with a fiscal sponsor that is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. If you do NOT have a fiscal sponsor, our staff will assist you.

    • We are not offering this grant to individuals. 

  • Committed to the advancement, empowerment, and inclusion of LGBTQIA2S+ community in the social, economic, civic, and cultural life of Boston

  • Demonstrates an understanding and response to the diverse LGBTQIA2S+ community needs of Boston

  • Demonstrated a history of collaboration, providing a sustainable resources, advocacy work and/or providing direct service.
