Improvements to Cassidy Field

Walter F. Cassidy Playground - Chestnut Hill Playground | Park Established 1898

Comprehensive park renovation to include ballfields, courts, passive areas, pathways, utilities, and landscaping.

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department completed a master plan of Cassidy Playground in 2016. The master plan addresses:

  • long-standing flooding issues with the fields
  • provides passive spaces for neighborhood use of the park
  • adds a perimeter pedestrian path, and
  • upgrades infrastructure and features.

The master plan includes renovation of the field house to provide public restrooms and will be designed and constructed by Boston Public Facilities.
