Grant Partner Priorities

Grant partners should align with YEO’s guiding priorities, including:

  1. Variety of Opportunities: Balance the opportunities available for youth across industries/career interests, neighborhoods, and youth demographics served.
  2. Advancement of the Mayor’s Youth Jobs Guarantee: Continue to advance the Mayor’s Youth Jobs Guarantee (MYJG) and enhance the impact for Boston Public school students.
  3. High-Quality Programming: Support high-quality programming for youth and prioritize programs with comprehensive career readiness frameworks.
  4. Service of Priority Populations: Supporting programs that primarily serve our priority population of youth ages 14 to 18.
  5. Participation in Coalition Model: Refining the coalition model of grantmaking to optimize our funds’ administration while ensuring we holistically support an extensive and diverse array of organizations.
  6. Fiscal Responsibility: Ensuring fiscal responsibility and fund spending maximization of the City’s investment in youth jobs. Please note that this means that YEO is unlikely to fund program growth from previous years in 2026-2027.
  7. Compliance: YEO will take into account our grantees’ record of compliance of all SuccessLink grant funding requirements, which includes the responsible and allowable use of funds and where applicable, the timely return of unused funds.

Participation in Coalition Model

YEO strongly encourages prospective grant partners to collaborate with similar organizations to form a coalition and submit one application for the SuccessLink program. If you have questions about the coalition model, you can reach out to futureBOS@boston.gov.
