Yuqi Wang joined the Human Services cabinet in June 2023. As the Policy and Research Director, Yuqi identifies key policy interventions at the City and State levels to support the Mayor's vision to provide equitable access to high quality services, resources, and opportunities so that every Boston resident - especially those with the greatest needs - has what they need to thrive.
Yuqi brings a decade of experience in building community, and working in social justice and public policy. Through her work with organizations such as UnidosUS, the Institute on Economic and Racial Equity, the Midas Collaborative, the Asian Community Development Corporation, and the Kendall Square Association, Yuqi brings a deep and rich skillset in policy analysis, development, and research that is rooted in equitable and diverse community leadership and perspective.
Yuqi uses she/her pronouns. She received her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, and her Masters in Public Policy and her MBA from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
Born in Beijing and raised in Chicago, Yuqi currently resides in West Roxbury with her partner and two dogs, Joy! and May. She is an avid knitter/crocheter/sewist, and loves to foster rescue dogs and play Dungeons and Dragons in her free time.
