Parkman Playground opening
Join Mayor Martin J. Walsh and local residents for the unveiling of over $1.7 million in improvements at Parkman Playground in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Jamaica Plain. Refreshments provided by HP Hood.
Dating back to 1924, the revitalized Francis Parkman Playground was renovated by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department with site improvements including an inclusive play structure and springers for children ages 2 to 5, a larger inclusive climbing structure for ages 5 to 12 and amenities including a dish swing, embankment slide, exercise station, drinking bottle filler, splash pad with runnel, picnic shelter, and a trike loop/mini basketball hoop area. Other improvements include new fencing, site furniture, LED lighting, trees, and plantings.
