Santa Speedo Run and North End Christmas Parade

Traffic Advisory for Saturday and Sunday, December 14 and 15, 2019

The SSRun (Santa Speedo Run) taking place on Saturday, December 14, and the North End Christmas Parade taking place on Sunday, December 15, will impact traffic and parking in Boston.  People coming into the City for the events are encouraged not to drive their personal vehicles.  Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike share service, may be found at http://bluebikes.com and information on the MBTA may be found at www.mbta.com.  Walking is also a great way to move around Boston.

On 12/14 the SSRun will begin at 1 PM in front of #903 Boylston Street.  Runners will head east on Boylston Street, turn left onto Berkeley Street, left onto Newbury Street, left onto Gloucester Street, left onto Boylston Street, and end at #903.  The run is expected to be over by 1:45 PM.  Brief traffic delays along the route should be expected.  “Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Saturday, 6 AM to 4 PM, parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Boylston Street, odd side, Gloucester Street to just past #867.

The North End Christmas Parade will take place on 12/15.  Santa is scheduled to land by helicopter at Columbus Park and travel in a Boston Fire Department engine to Puopolo Park where the parade will begin at 1 PM.  The parade route is Puopolo Park, Commercial Street to North Street, left onto Lewis Street, right onto Commercial Street, right onto Richmond Street, cross Hanover Street to Parmenter Street, right onto Salem Street, right onto Charter Street, right onto Hanover Street, right onto Cross Street, right onto Endicott Street, right at Causeway Street, right onto Prince Street, left onto Hanover Street, left onto Commercial Street, ending at Puopolo Park.  Traffic will be held back briefly at intersections as the parade progresses along the route.
