Shared Employee E-Cargo Bike Program
A new e-cargo bike pilot program for City of Boston employees
Starting in the fall of 2025, employees can now access a fleet of four electric cargo bikes that will add a sustainable transportation alternative to Fleet Hub. This initiative is managed by the New Mobility team and the electric cargo bike share service, CargoB. Bikes will be accessed free of charge via the CargoB app, and come equipped with a rack or front bucket, making it easy for employees to transport materials for meetings and other activities in the community.
The e-cargo bike initiative builds on the previous climate change efforts of Knox, an electric-assist cargo trike – a first of its kind for the City of Boston! These e-cargo bikes are one more tool the City of Boston can use to promote sustainable and efficient transportation modes among employees. The carrying capacity makes the fleet a viable option for transporting materials such as heavy stacks of flyers and various equipment. We are working to evaluate how the program improves transportation access and efficiency for city employees.
These e-cargo bikes are available to any city employee for attending meetings across town, conducting site visits, or any other task related to their job. Are you an employee interested in utilizing the E-Cargo Bike Program? Click here to gain access to the information you need to get started!
