Special events will impact traffic and parking this weekend

Special events taking place from Friday, July 6, through Sunday, July 8, will impact traffic and parking on streets in the City of Boston.  People coming into the City to enjoy the festivities are encouraged not to drive their personal vehicles.  Information on Blue Bikes, the regional bike-share service, may be found at http://bluebikes.com and information on the MBTA may be found at www.mbta.com.  Walking is also a great way to move around Boston

 

Friday, July 6

The following temporary parking restrictions will be in effect to support the Luke Bryan concert at Fenway Park.

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Friday 1:00PM to 11:59PM”

  • Brookline Avenue, both sides, from Overland Street to Lansdowne Street
  • Overland Street, south side, from Brookline Avenue to end of legal parking near David Ortiz Drive
  • Boylston Street, south side, from opposite Ipswich Street to Brookline Avenue
  • Lansdowne Street, both sides, from Brookline Avenue to Ipswich Street
  • Ipswich Street, north side, from Lansdowne Street to Boylston Street
  • Van Ness Street, both sides, from Ipswich Street to Kilmarnock Street

“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Friday 1:00PM to 11:59PM”

  • Jersey Street, both sides, from Van Ness Street to Brookline Avenue
  • Richard B. Ross Way, both sides, from Van Ness Street to Boylston Street

“Tow Zone No Parking Reserved for HP-DV Parking Only Friday

  • Boylston Street, north side, from Ipswich Street to Kilmarnock Street
  • Jersey Street, both sides, from Boylston Street to Van Ness Street
  • Overland Street, north side, from Brookline Avenue to end of legal parking near David Ortiz Drive

 

Saturday, July 7

The following temporary traffic and parking restrictions will be in effect to support the Chinatown Main Street Festival in Chinatown.

The streets below will be closed to traffic from 7:00AM to 6:00 PM

  • Beach Street, from Surface Road to Tyler Street
  • Tyler Street, from Kneeland Street to Beach Street
  • Hudson Street, from Kneeland Street to Beach Street
  • Oxford Street, from Beach Street to Essex Street
  • Harrison Avenue, from Essex Street to Kneeland Street.

  • Beach Street, both sides, from J.F.Fitzgerald Expressway Surface Road to Tyler Street
  • Hudson Street, both sides, from Kneeland Street to Beach Street
  • Oxford Street, both sides, from Beach Street to Essex Street

 

Sunday, July 8

The following temporary traffic and parking restrictions will be in effect to support Open Newbury Street in the Back Bay.

The streets below will be closed to traffic from 10:00AM to 6:30PM

  • Newbury Street, from Arlington Street to Massachusetts Avenue
  • Exeter Street, from Commonwealth Avenue to Newbury Street
  • Fairfield Street, from Boylston Street to Newbury Street
  • Gloucester Street, from Commonwealth Avenue to Newbury Street
  • Hereford Street, from Boylston Street to Newbury Street

“No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday” (Enforcement will begin at 5 AM)

  • Newbury Street, both sides, from Arlington Street to Massachusetts Avenue
  • Berkeley Street, both sides, from Boylston Street to Commonwealth Avenue
  • Clarendon Street, both sides, from Commonwealth Avenue to Boylston Street
  • Exeter Street, both sides, from Commonwealth Avenue to Newbury Street
  • Fairfield Street, both sides, from Boylston Street to Newbury Street
  • Gloucester Street, both sides, from Commonwealth Avenue to Newbury Street
  • Hereford Street, both sides, from Boylston Street to Newbury Street, excluding next to the fire station
