Traffic Advisory for Thursday, Sept. 22 - Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016

The Jimmy Fund Walk, Beantown Jazz Festival, and other events will impact traffic and parking.

The Jimmy Fund Walk, the Beantown Jazz Festival and other scheduled activities will impact traffic and parking on local streets in Boston from Thursday, September 22, through Tuesday, September 27, 2016.  To travel to these events, information on Hubway, the regional bike-share service, may be found at www.thehubway.com and information on the MBTA may be found at www.mbta.com.  For a faster return trip, the MBTA advises riders to purchase a round trip rather than a one-way ticket.

 

Thursday, September 22

  • Melrose Street, Bay Village, from Church Street to Arlington Street, closed to traffic from 4:30 PM to 8 PM for a neighborhood event.  “Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Thursday 4 PM to 11 PM” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

Saturday, September 24

  • Columbus Avenue, Northampton Street, Camden Street, Douglass Park, Davenport Street and Benton Street, all between Massachusetts Avenue and Burke Streets, will be closed to traffic from 5 AM to 12 Midnight for the Berklee Beantown Jazz Festival “Tow Zone No Stopping Friday and Saturday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.

  • Auriga Street, Dorchester, between Westglow Street and Garner Road, will be closed to traffic from 1 PM to 8 PM for a neighborhood event.
  • Lawn Street, Mission Hill, between #81 to #55, will be closed to traffic from 2 PM to 5 PM, for a neighborhood event
  • Ashfield Street, Roslindale, between Fairview and Walter Streets, will be closed to traffic from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM for a neighborhood event

 

Sunday, September 25

  • Dartmouth Street, Back Bay, Blagden Street to Boylston Street, will be closed to traffic from 5 AM to 8 PM for the Jimmy Fund Walk.  “Tow Zone Boston Police Special Event Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.
  • Beacon Street, south side, Munson Street to opposite #712 Beacon Street
  • Boylston Street, both sides, Dartmouth Street to Clarendon Street
  • Blagden Street, both sides, Dartmouth Street to Exeter Street
  • Brookline Avenue, even side, Deaconess Road toward Francis Street and including the loading zone and first four metered spaces
  • Clarendon Street, both sides, Boylston Street to Saint James Avenue
  • Trinity Place, both sides, Stuart Street to Saint James Avenue

  • Lansdowne Street, both sides, Brookline Avenue to Ipswich Street
  • Avenue de Lafayette, Downtown Crossing, between Washington Street and Chauncy Street, will be closed to traffic from 5 AM to 8 PM for the Taste of Downtown Crossing.  “Tow Zone No Stopping Special Event Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.
  • Avenue de Lafayette, both sides, from Chauncy Street to Washington Street
  • Harrison Avenue Extension, both sides, Avenue de Lafayette to Hayward Place
  • Brighton Avenue, Brighton, between Linden Street and #161 Brighton Avenue will be closed to traffic from 12 noon to 4 PM for the the Brian J. Honan Road Race and the Allston Brighton Parade.  “Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.
  • Brighton Avenue, outbound roadway, Malvern Street to Cambridge Street
  • Faneuil Street, park side, opposite Adair Street to opposite #365 Faneuil Street
  • Cambridge Street, both sides, Brighton Avenue to Washington Street
  • Washington Street, both sides, Cambridge Street to Oak Street.
  • Harvard Avenue, Allston, between Cambridge Street and Brighton Avenue, will be closed to traffic from 6 AM to 8 PM for the Allston Village Street Fair.  “Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.
  • Harvard Avenue, both sides, Cambridge Street to Brighton Avenue
  • Harvard Terrace, both sides, Harvard Avenue to the dead end
  • Farrington Street, both sides, Harvard Avenue to Highgate Street
  • Gardner Street, both sides, Harvard Avenue to Linden Street
  • 2,000 people from the New England North Pathfinders Ministry and the New England Churches will gather at Walker Playground on Norfolk Avenue, Dorchester, and, beginning at 1 PM, march on Norfolk Avenue, right onto Blue Hill Avenue, right onto Westview Street, into Harambee Park.  Traffic will be held back at intersections as the marchers proceed along the route“Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect as follows.
  • Talbot Avenue, park side, from Blue Hill Avenue to Wales Street
