Traffic Advisory for January 17-20, 2025

Events happening in the City of Boston will bring some parking restrictions and street closures.

ORANGE LINE DIVERSION (through january 20, 2025)

The MBTA is closing the Orange Line from Oak Grove to North Station (1/17-1/20) for MassDOT bridge work. Shuttle service will be provided between Oak Grove and North Station.

Orange Line Riders will be impacted as Orange Line service will be replaced with commuter rail service and shuttles.

  • NOTE: Haverhill + Newburyport/Rockport Commuter Rail will also be closed 1/18-19. This will prohibit parking on Nashua St during these dates for shuttle bus pick up and drop off operations.
  • Riders using shuttle buses during this service change should budget extra traveling time.

Residents who drive will experience heavy congestion along the shuttle route. Please avoid driving along the route and remember to stay local to your neighborhood whenever possible!

  • Haverhill Street will be closed to all thru traffic

Temporary removal of parking spaces to accommodate shuttle movements, shuttle stops, and shuttle operations.

  • Parking will be restricted on sections of:
    • Nashua St
    • Beverly St

Cyclists will experience increased traffic due to heavy shuttle bus traffic on the route. Please use caution when navigating around buses.
