Primary Project Type
Schools

Originally built in 1949, White Stadium has long been home to Boston student-athletes and community events, but for decades it has lacked the basic infrastructure our students deserve. The facility had no indoor training spaces, no running water, no heat, and poor field drainage, limiting its usage. Now, through a once-in-a-generation public-private partnership with Boston Legacy Football Club (BLFC), White Stadium is being renovated as a modern, fully accessible athletic complex, owned by Boston Public Schools and available as a public asset in every season. The renovation will:

  • Expand public access from 9 hours, 5-days a week to 15 hours daily, 7 days a week
  • Add new indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, classrooms, and restrooms
  • Support year-round youth sports and community events

This project honors the historic legacy of Franklin Park while creating new opportunities for Boston residents and students.

Continuing the Conversation:

White Stadium Transportation Plan

The White Stadium project team is hosting four neighborhood meetings to hear directly from residents and continue gathering community feedback on the remaining pieces of the game day transportation plan.

Join us in person at a meeting in your neighborhood to:

  • hear an overview of how the game day transportation plan will work
  • learn about proposed neighborhood and Franklin Park parking protections on game days, and
  • review the process for how each neighborhood can decide whether it wants parking protections, and if so, how those protections will work.
These meetings are an important opportunity to ask questions, share your perspective, and help inform the continued development of the transportation plan.
