City of Boston Zoning Commission Public Hearings

The Zoning Commission public hearings will start at 9 a.m. on October 22, 2025.

The Zoning Commission of the City of Boston hereby gives notice, in accordance with Chapter 665 of the Acts of 1956, as amended, that a virtual public hearing will be held on October 22, 2025, at 9 a.m., in connection with Text Amendment Application Nos. 537-538, filed by the City of Boston Planning Department. 

The Zoning Commission of the City of Boston hereby gives notice, in accordance with Chapter 665 of the Acts of 1956, as amended, that a virtual public hearing will be held on October 22, 2025, at 9:15 a.m., in connection with Text Amendment Application Nos. 539-542, filed by the City of Boston Planning Department. 


This meeting will only be held virtually and not in person. You can participate in this meeting by going to our online meeting. Copies of the amendments may be obtained from the Zoning Commission electronically, and you may also submit written comments or questions to zoningcornmission@boston.gov.

    Groundwater Conservation Overlay District 

    Article 32 

    Said amendments would remove the requirement for a conditional use permit for Substantial Rehabilitation projects, improve the legibility of GCOD regulations and applicability, as well as amend Article 2 (Definitions), Article 3 (Establishment of Zoning Districts), and Article 37 (Green Buildings and Net Zero Carbon) to ensure that changes within Article 32 are reflected throughout the Zoning Code.

    Skyline Zoning and Corresponding Amendments 

    The text and map amendments create new Skyline Districts that implement zoning recommendations from PLAN: Downtown to modernize land uses, incentivize preservation and adaptive reuse, and enable more growth, housing, and businesses Downtown. Said corresponding text amendments throughout the Code also ensure that Article 31 and Article 8 are reflected consistently; said map amendments also amend zoning maps 1, IA, lC/lG/lN, and lH to accurately reflect the new Skyline Districts zoning.
