Fixit Clinic: Boston Building Resources
Explore troubleshooting and repair with volunteer coaches.
Fixit Clinics are free workshops where people bring broken stuff—from bikes to blenders to blazers—and volunteer coaches share their tools and know-how, working with you to troubleshoot and (hopefully) repair items. These meet-ups build hands-on skills, confidence, community, and a culture of reuse and repair; they are family-friendly and open to all. The City of Boston Environment Department is partnering with Boston Building Resources to host one of these events.
SIGN UP to participate
What should I bring?
- A broken item—for example: a gadget, small appliance, computer, toy, or textile good
- A description of what’s wrong and anything you’ve tried to fix it
- Useful tools and parts, if you have them
- A desire to try new things and learn!
Sign up to coach, support, or observe
You are encouraged to join your neighbors in this fixing community. We welcome people skilled in repair or maintenance, as well as support staff to help sign in participants and connect them with coaches. You can attend as an observer first, to learn about these roles. Volunteers make these workshops possible.
