BCYF Youth Engagement & Employment

BCYF’s Division of Youth Engagement and Employment prepares Boston's young adults for the future.

The BCYF Division of Youth Engagement & Employment is a one-stop engagement and resource center. We connect, advocate, and serve young residents in Boston. We help youth develop necessary skills and abilities they need in life. In our work, we:

  • connect teens ages 15-18 to summer and school-year jobs
  • engage Boston’s youth in civic process, and
  • provide opportunities for youth career development.

This new initiative will enhance youth workforce development skills through short learning activities. Each activity encourages young people to think about real-world financial challenges.

At the completion of this program, students will gain an understanding of:

  • saving
  • budgeting
  • checking accounts
  • credit cards
  • mobile banking
  • financing higher education
  • 529 Plans
  • taxes, and
