How do I pay a parking ticket
You have four ways to pay a parking ticket in Boston: online, by mail, over the phone, or in person. You need to pay your ticket within 21 days to avoid extra fees.
-
Online: You can pay online using your ticket number, notice number, or your car's license plate number if it's registered in Massachusetts. You can only use Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or American Express debit or credit cards. There is a small fee of 2.75% of the ticket cost for online payments. This fee goes to the company that handles card payments, not the City.
-
By Mail: You can send a check or money order to the City of Boston. Make it payable to the City of Boston. Include your ticket number, registration number, name, and address. Mail it to: City of Boston, PO Box 55800, Boston, MA 02205.
-
Over the Phone: You can pay by calling 617-635-3888. This service is available all day, every day. You will need your parking ticket number. There is a service fee of 2.5% of the total ticket cost. This fee is paid to the card processor and not kept by the City.
-
In Person: You can pay at the Parking Clerk's office at 1 City Hall Square, Room 224, Boston, MA 02201. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 4:30 pm. You can pay with cash, a cashier's check, a money order, or a debit or credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or American Express). You will need a photo ID for all card payments. If you use a credit card or debit card, there is a non-refundable service fee of 2.5% of the total payment, with a $1 minimum. This fee is paid to the card processor and not kept by the City.
