John’s primary focus is to aid businesses with financial assistance and resources in their startup, maintenance, expansion, or relocation within the City of Boston. He identifies financial tools from the City of Boston, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the Federal Governments to not only support existing business, small and large, but also to put together incentive packages to attract companies that can bring new jobs and innovation to Boston. Along with existing programs, John also leads development of new grants and alternative financing sources from third party lenders, strengthening the City’s relationship with banks to support business attraction and retention.
Previously, John was an employee of the Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA) for over 10 years, guiding over 100 development projects in the project approval process. Before joining the Office of Economic Development, John helped to oversee the City of Boston’s 2024 Olympic bid, and then transitioned into Imagine Boston 2030, the City’s first citywide master plan in over 50 years.
John graduated from Boston Latin School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
