Apply for the New Start program by calling Eversource at 1-800-592-2000

Eversource will eliminate outstanding balances if you make qualifying, on time, monthly payments.

If you are 55+ years of age, you can go to Age Strong directly for help applying for various fuel assistance programs.

My Electric Bill is too High

Learn about the options you have if your electric bill is too high.

  • Apply for a Discount rate 
  • You may qualify for a 42% discount on your Eversource bill if you are eligible. 
  • After completing the application, please log on to your account at Eversource.com and select Upload Documents in the menu on the bottom of the page to securely submit your documents. You can also mail your application and any copies of your eligibility documentation to:

You can also enroll in the Boston Community Choice Electricity (BCCE) program.

  • BCCE allows the City to secure electricity at a competitive rate on the behalf of residents, places of worship, and small business owners. BCCE is flexible to your needs. You can change your plan or leave the program any time without any fees. 
  • Make a 15-minute appointment for further assistance
