Anne Schwieger

Assistant Director, Planning Advisory Council

Anne Schwieger serves as Assistant Director of the Planning Advisory Council (PAC). She is inspired each day by the many ways that departments across the City work together to deliver for the people of Boston.

Prior to joining the PAC staff Anne served as Senior Strategic Initiatives Manager in the Office of Mayor Michelle Wu. Here she led a variety of cross-departmental engagement efforts to spur relationship building, information sharing, and greater collaboration on the day-to-day work of the City as well as new initiatives. From 2015 to 2020 Anne served as the City’s first Broadband and Digital Equity Advocate. Anne began her career as a planner in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania’s Netter Center for Community Partnerships.

Anne holds a Master in City Planning from the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT and a BA in Biology and Society from Cornell University. She and her family live in Jamaica Plain where they enjoy time with neighbors in the Forbes Street Community Garden, exploring playgrounds along the Southwest Corridor, and frequenting J.P. Licks. Anne is a proud Boston Public Schools (BPS) parent of two incredible kids.
