McKinney Playground Improvements

| Park Established 1930 |

McKinney Playground's master plan has entered into the final design and construction documentation phase!

McKinney Playground is a significant recreational resource for the bustling residential neighborhood on the outskirts of Oak Square, Brighton. In 2024, this beloved space will finally be getting the face lift it deserves!

The Parks Department is in the process of implementing the McKinney Playground's 2016 Master Plan into final design and construction documents! McKinney Playground is a significant recreational resource for the bustling residential neighborhood on the outskirts of Oak Square, Brighton. The programmatic elements of the existing park will remain the same, but the park's existing features will be renovated:

  • Shade trees
  • Playground
  • Walking paths
  • Ball fields
  • Basketball court
  • Sports court

The new design will explore the possibility of adding water play and how to make the site cater to different user groups. The new design will protect the beautiful shade trees around the play equipment and along Faneuil Street.

Stay tuned for the final community meeting!
