This project is a Programming/Feasibility Study to investigate how the City of Boston should repair, renovate and/or add to; the existing historic Jamaica Pond Boathouse building and the adjacent Bandstand (which also houses the Jamaica Pond Nature Center). Although accessibility improvements have recently been completed in the plaza surrounding these two historic structures; additional accessibility and code related assessments of the area and buildings, including the two existing public bathrooms in the boathouse, are needed. The study will provide the City with the necessary detailed information, design approach, estimated construction costs and recommendations that will allow it to make an informed decision for the future of the Jamaica Pond Boathouse and Bandstand.
