James H. Roberts Playground Improvements

We’re excited to share that Phase 1 of improvements is underway at James H. Robert’s Playground! This first phase begins with a Comprehensive Plan—a roadmap created with community input—that will guide both the immediate upgrades and the long-term vision for the space. The park was established in 1951.

The community priorities are expected to include renovating the playground and splash pad so families can enjoy updated play spaces, adding safe and modern surfacing to protect kids as they play, and installing new seating, furnishings, and plantings to make the park more comfortable and inviting.

Phase 1 construction will focus on renovating the splash pad, improving drainage to better manage storm water, and providing tree care guided by an arborist. These updates will address today’s needs while also laying a strong foundation for future enhancements to the park. Community meetings will begin in December 2025.
