Bike chat: Carrying things by bike

Come and chat with us about carrying plants, cats, pies, and more by bike!

While we will share our tips and best practices, we would love to highlight *your* stories too. You can share in words, photos, or both.

Join us in May to talk about carrying all manner of things by bike! Bring your questions, your pro tips, and your stories to these facilitated conversations.

We will convene three times in May. While the format will be the same each time, the content will change based on who joins us that day.

Join the City of Boston, the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground at Boston University, and New England Conservatory in proudly honoring the lives and legacies of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and civil rights leader, author, and activist Coretta Scott King.

This annual event has adapted this year to a virtual format with public health and safety guidelines in mind. We invite you to view the full program, featuring live and pre-recorded content, which will be aired live on the City of Boston TV channel (Xfinity: channel 24, RCN: channel 13, and Fios: channel 962) and via livestream on Boston.gov and Boston University's website.

FEATURED SPEAKERS:

Eddie S. Glaude Jr. is the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor and chair of the Department of African American Studies at Princeton University. In a year when many are reading James Baldwin’s essays, Dr. Glaude helps us to understand Baldwin’s excursion to understand racism in Begin Again: James Baldwin’s America and Its Urgent Lessons for Our Own

Ibram X. Kendi is a bestselling author, the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities at Boston University, and the founding director of the BU Center for Antiracist Research. Professor Kendi is a contributing writer at The Atlantic and a CBS News correspondent. He is also the 2020-2021 Frances B. Cashin Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for the Advanced Study at Harvard University.

Selections from Baldwin’s essays and introduction of speakers will be done by graduates of Boston Public Schools now attending Boston University and New England Conservatory, including NEC's David Norville.

The City of Boston is offering virtual "office hours" for anyone with questions about the Community Choice Electricity program.

The Community Choice Electricity program provides Bostonians with greater local control over the electricity that powers their homes and businesses. City staff will be holding virtual "office hours" for anyone with questions about the program. We also encourage you to visit the City of Boston’s Community Choice Electricity website to learn more.

The virtual "office hours" will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 - 1 p.m. You can join by clicking the following link:

Community Choice Electricity virtual 'office hours'

The City of Boston is offering virtual “office hours” for anyone with questions about the Community Choice Electricity Program.

The Community Choice Electricity program will provide Bostonians with greater local control over the electricity that powers their homes and businesses. The program launches in February 2021. City staff will be holding virtual "office hours" over the month of January for anyone who has questions about the Community Choice Electricity Program. 

We encourage you to visit the City of Boston’s Community Choice Electricity webpage to learn more about this exciting new opportunity coming to Boston. On the webpage, we have webinar recordings in English and 11 other languages. These recordings are a valuable resource for learning more about the Community Choice Electricity Program.

The virtual “office hours” will be offered each Tuesday and Thursday from 12 - 1 p.m., and will run from January 5, 2021, to February 2, 2021. You can join the virtual "office hours" by clicking the following link:
