BCYF Youth Engagement and Employment

BCYF’s Youth Engagement and Employment (YEE) Division prepares Boston's young adults for the future.

YEE works with a network of community organizations and businesses to provide valuable opportunities for Boston’s teens. In our work, we:

  • place teens in summer and school-year jobs
  • provide guidance and mentorship, and
  • ensures Boston's youth have the skills and professionalism needed to succeed.

The Mayor's Youth Council (MYC) is a team of 85 teenagers who advise Mayor Walsh on policy and programming.

Youth Lead the Change

Youth Lead the Change is a year-to-year participatory budget process. Young Bostonians get to help manage how $1 million of the City’s budget is spent to make Boston even better!

Summer jobs

If you're a young person living in Boston and looking for a summer job, you have a couple of different options:

Register with Successlink

Are you living in Boston and between 15 - 18 years old? Find out about our Successlink summer jobs program.

After you register with Successlink, you're entered into our summer jobs lottery. Please keep in mind, registering with Successlink does not guarantee you a job.

Private industry council (PIC)

If you’re enrolled in a Boston Public School high school, you can also contact a Private Industry Council (PIC) career specialist at your school. Find your school’s career specialist.
