Mobius Artists Group welcomes you to an evening of performance art and participatory projects involving movement, play, language, light, and music, all responding to this place and time in American history. Returning to Boston City Hall for a second year in a row, Mobius continues to feel the weight of the precarious political climate that many in our nation are experiencing. Sometimes it feels like all we can do is Recalibrate continuously– adjust ourselves each day to the endlessly emerging risks within our country and toward our civil liberties. As a collective, Mobius recognizes that work does not happen individually. Let us come together, hold hands, and remember that navigating the tightrope of a shifting democracy has always required conversation, collaboration, and perhaps most importantly, curiosity. How else can we envision the future of our society?

Recalibrate was made possible by the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture, supported by ILLUMINUS, and includes the work of 13 Mobius members and 4 invited collaborators.

Are you an artist or creative in Boston? Looking to learn more about what the City is doing for the arts? Join SPARK Boston for a wide-ranging panel discussion on how Boston is looking to transform the downtown area into a neighborhood for creative activities and spaces. Featuring different stakeholders in Boston’s arts ecosystem, this panel will discuss topics such as: how Boston is looking to create new spaces for creatives, how the city is looking to increase access to existing spaces, and how gallerists and other professionals are working to create new venues and partnerships with the city. This event is free to attend and light refreshments will be served before the panel with opportunities for networking afterwards. Interested attendees are asked to register with Eventbrite in advance.

Fixit Clinics are free workshops where people bring broken stuff—from bikes to blenders to blazers—and volunteer coaches share their tools and know-how to help troubleshoot and (hopefully) repair items. These meet-ups build hands-on skills, confidence, community, and a culture of reuse and repair.

The City of Boston Environment Department is partnering with the West End Branch of the Boston Public Library to host one of these events. This special Fixit Clinic Junior is for children ages 6-12 years old!
